Innovative Solutions for Horticulture Honored at TSW. Prof. Aleksander Szczepan Pieniążek Awards Presented

Solutions supporting modern, efficient and innovative horticulture were honored during the 12th edition of the Prof. Aleksander Szczepan Pieniążek Award, presented at the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Trade Fair TSW. The Competition Jury awarded three products and granted one distinction.

The Prof. Aleksander Szczepan Pieniążek Award was presented to Andermatt Polska sp. z o.o. for plant-signal-based crop management using Vita biosensors by Vivent Biosignals – a solution enabling precise monitoring of plant condition and well-informed agronomic decision-making. Another laureate was Niva-Top Paweł Krygowski, recognized for the SZHP-100 leafy vegetable harvester, which meets the growing need for mechanization in horticultural farms. The award was also granted to Max Crop sp. z o.o. for the Max Crop system for recording working time on farms, supporting efficient labor management and the organization of production processes.

The Jury also decided to grant a distinction to the AJAPPLE Breeding Group for the apple variety “Sander,” characterized by high production and commercial potential.

The official award ceremony took place during the Fruit and Vegetable Industry Trade Fair TSW. All submitted products were carefully evaluated by the Competition Committee chaired by Prof. Dorota Konopacka, DSc, from the Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice. The Jury is composed of representatives of the scientific community and the horticultural industry, representing key institutions related to horticulture and agriculture.

A total of 21 products and solutions were submitted to the 12th edition of the Prof. Aleksander Szczepan Pieniążek Award and were assessed for their level of innovation and practical usefulness for horticulture.

The awarded solutions attracted considerable attention during the trade fair. The event brought together 508 exhibitors from 27 countries and 21,000 visitors. The scale of the fair and the number of new products presented confirmed TSW’s position as one of the most important meetings of the horticultural industry in Poland and the region.
